Tank container multimodal transport planning

The regional characteristics of China's natural gas consumption determine the necessity of inland transportation. The traditional inland transportation of LNG is mainly tank cars, and the comprehensive cost of long-distance cross regional transfer is high. The flexible transportation mode of tank and container and the long-term preservation of LNG in the tank make it possible for the intermodal transportation of LNG vehicles and ships,

Using the surplus capacity of Yangpu Port, the company completed the pilot project of "south to North gas transportation" of 130 tanks from Yangpu Port in Hainan to Longkou port in Shandong Province and Jinzhou port in Liaoning Province, which is the first time in China to realize the special LNG tank transportation by sea. Taking advantage of the cost advantage of water transportation, the company has completed the pilot transportation of 24 tanks from Longkou port in Shandong Province to Longtan port in Nanjing, which is the first "river sea combined transportation" of LNG tanks in China,

In the future, the multimodal transportation of LNG tanks will be transformed from trial operation to normal commercial operation.
